Adhering to the Centre’s COVID-19 safety protocols, cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes have reopened their gates with 50 percent of capacity in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. 

Cinema Halls Guidelines

As per the guidelines issued by the Government of India, it will be mandatory to maintain a minimum of six feet of distance between two individuals in the common area and waiting area in the cinema halls. The Centre has also asked the owners to make arrangements for contactless sanitizers.  Everyone visiting the cinema hall will have to undergo thermal screening before entering the auditorium. Also, as per the guidelines, only asymptomatic people will be allowed entry in multiplexes. The SOPs mandated by the Union government include one seat distance in halls, masks at all times, proper ventilation, and air conditioner temperature settings at above 23 degrees Celsius. As a result, PVR has decided to operations in 487 screens from today and hopes that other states will also allow it to screen new movies. Theatres and multiplexes will remain closed in states like Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The decision is taken keeping in mind the increasing number of COVID positive cases in these states.
