What is it for?
This center will enable and commence multidisciplinary directed basic as well as applied research in the verticals identified by both IIT (Roorkee) and DRDO. The CoE would collaborate with the faculties and academic researchers at IIT (Roorkee), industries, startups, and other institutes in India to facilitate and develop advanced research on defence technology. Key research areas
The key areas of research at the center would include hardened structures and smart infrastructure for energy storage devices, defence applications, landslide, specialty fibre, pulsed laser, thermal management, shock, detonics, snow, and avalanche studies.
