Google has unveiled a new corporate structure by creating Alphabet, an umbrella company. The same would be run by Larry Page, Chief of Google. “I feel very fortunate to have someone as talented as he is to run the slightly slimmed down Google and this frees up time for me to continue to scale our aspirations,” Page posted in a blog. Pichai has been working with Google since 2004 and Page is really impressed with his progress and commitment towards the company. Page is keen on mentoring Pichai as long as possible. Page said, “I have been spending quite a bit of time with Sundar, helping him and the company in any way I can, and I will of course continue to do that.” Pichai was overseeing product engineering, management and research for products and platforms of Google as Senior Vice President till now. Now, he will look after the biggest company i.e. Google under the umbrella and take care of products like ads, search engine, YouTube, apps, maps and Android system of the company’s division. Page also said, “Google itself is also making all sorts of new products, and I know Sundar will always be focused on innovation-continuing to stretch boundaries.”
