The smartphone is expected to launch at an aggressive price range of around $200 (around Rs. 14,625). The smartphone is expected to have a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, 720p display, and a huge battery. Oneplus Co-founder Carl Pei has already explained why the company went with Snapdragon 765G chipset instead of Snapdragon 800 series because the performance of 765G is almost the same as other flagships. As far as ‘OnePlus Clover’ is considered, it will be powered by Snapdragon 460 chipset. The 460 chipset has four Cortex A73 cores and four A53 cores. If compared to Snapdragon 765G chipset, the 460 is far behind. Though Snapdragon 460 is a good option for an entry-level smartphone which is priced at just $200. The smartphone is expected to have a triple rear camera setup (13+2+2 MP) and a single front selfie shooter. The smartphone will carry a huge battery of 6000Mah.

The smartphone is expected by the end of this year. According to some sources, the smartphone will hit the market on 20th November 2020.

So, the question is why OnePlus is launching an entry-level smartphone? Looking at the stats of OnePlus, the company sells only about 5.5 million units a year which is less than Google Pixel. By looking at the stats, it looks like the company is chasing the sales figure and the company is trying to become the mainstream player. Also, there are a lot of players in the market who had gained huge success through entry-level smartphones. Whereas the OnePlus has a flagship brand and it needs to have affordable phones if it wants to maintain any kind of sales momentum.
