Ever since Microsoft acquired Nokia’s handset department for US $7.2 billion, it has been keen on expanding the array of offerings in the 4G LTE segment. As for the Indian market, not much variety is found in this sector except the Lumia 638 that comes with a price tag of Rs 6,800. Microsoft gave an official statement saying that the prime endeavor of the company is to launch smartphones that actually allow easy switch between work and leisure. Given that the 9 to 5 job life is no longer strictly existent, users need phones that allow them to breeze through entertainment and work in a jiffy. The Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 640 fit the bill in this regard. For starters, the latter will retail online via Flipkart while the former handset can be bought from traditional mobile phone stores. Lumia 640 specifications:
Dual SIM support 5-inch HD display Windows Phone 8.1 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 8 MP main shutter 1 MP front camera 8 GB inbuilt memory expandable up to 128 GB Battery of 2500 mAh
Lumia 640 XL specifications:
5.7-inch display 13 MP main camera 5 MP front camera Battery of 3,000 mAh
While these devices seem a good bet, we eagerly await Indian telecom players to spruce up their 4G networks. We do know that Microsoft has a bunch of smartphones waiting to be rolled out post this!
